HOUSTON (AP) - Two people in Houston are getting an assist from an AT&T Store where they had their old iPhones stolen while waiting for their new ones.
The men were in line around at 4 a.m. Friday at the west Houston here store, waiting for the new iPhone model, when they were approached by armed men who stood over them and demanded their phones and wallets.
The Houston Chronicle reports that the men told police the robbers appeared to be about 20 years old.
They stayed in line. When the store opened, they got their new iPhones - with credit for the phones that were stolen.
AT&T spokesman Fletcher Cook confirmed the two men received the credit under a program allowing customers to upgrade to new phone models at a discount.
